An artist and avocado enthusiast.

I started carving avocado stones in 2015 after I was doing research on how to plant an avocado seed. I came across many articles and learned that traditionally, avocado wood is known as a symbol of love and lust, and an archaeological site in Peru first discovered a mummy which was buried alongside avocado pits in the 8th century BC.
Known for their love, beauty and aphrodisiac qualities, it is believed that they were buried with the mummies to benefit them in the afterlife!
After reading this I was able to find an ancient Peruvian avocado pit carving and was inspired to this day.
I must also add that I happen to have Peruvian ancestry and am related to an Incan "mummy". She is known as "momia Juanita", her remains can be visited at the Santuarios Andinos Museum in the heart of Arequipa, Peru.

The whole process of creating my art has become a ritual for me. It gives me so much peace, having said that, I only carve when I have the right inspiration and motivation surrounding me, I like to believe that I leave a part of me in each and every pendant, and I wish to transmit that.

You will also find other zero waste forms of jewelry like tiny embroidery, wood pendants, earring, and old up-cycled watches which I insert embroidery in.
The majority of these materials (except all the earring hooks and wooden embroidery hoops) are recycled and upcycled.
Meaning that I use things from nature and repurpose old items and clean them up to give them a second chance as something beautiful.
